School app development for parents and staff
What we walk into
The state of play in education
- Announcements posted to a website nobody visits, then repeated across four WhatsApp groups
- Fee reminders that reach one parent per family and stop there
- Admissions enquiries arriving as phone calls during teaching hours
- No way to tell whether a message was actually delivered, let alone read
Outcomes
What changes
- School Management OS
- Ops portals
- Play Store family apps
Broader sector context lives on Education software, and the full engagement is described on Mobile Apps & PWAs.
Scope
What the build covers
Play Store release ops
Signing, listing copy, screenshots, privacy declarations, and staged rollout handled with you — including the review cycles.
Push tied to real events
Notifications fire from the operations portal — fee generated, absence marked, announcement published — not from someone remembering to send one.
Family-scoped access
One login sees the siblings it should and nothing else, with guardians able to hold access for more than one student.
Offline-tolerant screens
Timetables, notices, and fee history stay readable on a weak connection at the school gate.
Rollout
How it sequences
01
Pick the daily loop
One thing a parent opens the app for every week. Usually announcements plus fees. Everything else waits.
02
Ship to a single cohort
One campus or year group on a closed track, so listing problems and push failures surface before the whole school installs.
03
Open enrolment
Public listing, install instructions for families, and a fallback for parents without a supported device.
FAQ
Questions buyers ask first
Android only, or iOS as well?
Android and Google Play is our default, because that is where most family devices are in the markets we ship to. iOS-ready workflows are available when the brief needs them, and a PWA covers the gap in the meantime.
Does the app need a school portal behind it?
It needs something authoritative to read from. If your operations portal is already live, the app sits on its API. If not, the portal comes first — an app with no system behind it is just a second place to type announcements.
Who owns the Play Console listing?
You do. We publish under your developer account where one exists, or set one up in the school's name and hand over the credentials.
